Happy Saturday!

Our very talented children finished the painting “Many Blessings” for this Sunday’s Silent Auction. The auction will benefit the Shepherdstown businesses that were robbed last week. I am so very proud of our kids. The painting depicts something from each business. Each child signed the back of the painting, and the younger children titled the masterpiece!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Morgan Academy wishes to thank the wonderful Lords and Ladies of the Shire of Sylvan Glen of the Kingdom of Aethelmearc for visiting last Friday to teach us about the Middle Ages.

These members of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) shared tasty medieval drinks, taught us songs to sing in rounds,  demonstrated medieval weaving, and taught us all about a knight’s armor and weapons.

Dear Friends,

Today I’m writing to ask you to Be a Good Cookie and support Morgan Academy’s efforts to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Friday, February 15, Morgan Academy will host a Cookies for Kids’ Cancer event at the Fourth Annual Morgan Academy Winter Festival. All of the proceeds will go directly to critically needed pediatric cancer research.

Founded by parents inspired by their young son’s battle with pediatric cancer, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is a 501 (c)(3) that raises awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. Since the organization was founded, thousands of events have been held across the United States as well as internationally, raising millions for new and improved research for pediatric cancer – the number one disease killer of kids in the US due, in large part, to lack of funding. To learn more about pediatric cancer and Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, visit the website: www.cookiesforkidscancer.org.

Morgan Academy’s event goal is to raise $2,500. One way you can participate is by attending the event and making a donation, but another easy way you can support the school’s effort is to make an online donation. Click the link below to visit Morgan Academy’s personal donation page where you can make a secure credit card donation. No amount is too small, and every dollar makes a difference.

Bernardine Somers, Director
